Title : Inflammatory Breast Cancer Survivor

Biography :

Terry Arnold, a resident of the Houston area, is an Inflammatory Breast Cancer survivor who organized the IBC Network in 2007 out of a need to connect doctors with researchers in the field of inflammatory breast cancer along with patients who have been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer.

Through Terry’s efforts on behalf of anyone diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, more money has been raised for research and more doctors have become knowledgeable in the area of inflammatory breast cancer.

Terry, through her work in the last legislative session, and with the assistance of Rep. Carol Alvarado and Sen. Joan Huffman, was able to get a proclamation issued declaring October 2011 as Inflammatory Breast Cancer month.

Terry has made inroads into the situation occurring in Canada, where inflammatory breast cancer was not being treated by helping to organize a symposium bringing together researchers from the United States with doctors from Canada.
